ANIMATED EARTH: THE WEDDING OF DANNY AND SAWYER
BY WILLIAM RAYMER

Imagine, if you will, that there are two Earths: the one we as real people live on, and one that the characters we enjoy on television and motion picture screens live on. This story takes place on Another Earth-the "Animated Earth."

Chapter One- "Danny's Proposal"

Daniel Goldsmith- known to friends, family and fans as "Danny the song and dance cat"-was nervous as heck. He was about to take the ultimate next step in his relationship with frequent co-star Sawyer Dumas. So, he decided to call a friend for some advice.

In Rustboro City of the Hoenn Region, Ash Ketchum was sitting on a couch in the local Pokemon Center, waiting for Nurse Joy to heal his Pokemon. Suddenly, a near-by videophone rang. Ash moved over to the phone and picked up the handset. "Hello?" Danny's image appeared on the screen. "Danny? How are you? I haven't seen you since Warner Brothers lost the release rights to the Pokemon movies. How's Sawyer?" Ash asked.
"We're both all right," Danny said. "She sends her greetings to Brock, Misty and Pikachu."
"Actually," Ash said, "Misty's not traveling with us anymore. See, her sisters-the leaders of the Cerulean Gym-won a trip around the world, so Misty went back and took over. You really need to keep in touch, Danny. Just 'cause Miramax is releasing our movies now doesn't give you an excuse to not call once in a while."

Danny smiled. "Point taken and made, Ash. Now, I need some advice," he said.
"Of course, Danny. I'd be glad to help you in any way I can," Ash said with a smile.
"Of course you know that Sawyer and I have been going out ever since the whole business with Darla Dimple, right?" Danny asked.
"Of course," Ash said. And then, it clicked. "You're gonna ask Sawyer to marry you, is that it?" Ash asked.
"Yeah," Danny said. "As soon as you hang up, get Brock, Pikachu and whomever you're traveling with now to these coordinates. I'm sending a Mammoth Pictures jet to pick you up and bring you to Hollywood so you can be there for the premiere of my latest movie. There, I'll propose to Sawyer."
Ash grabbed a map and drew the coordinates Danny flashed on the screen. "Coordinates recieved, Danny. Good luck. 'Bye," Ash said.

A few hours later at Rustboro Airport, Ash, Pikachu, Brock, May and Max stood and waited for the Mammoth Pictures jet to land. Brock smiled at Ash. "So, Danny said that he's gonna propose to Sawyer at the premiere?" he asked.
"Yep," Ash said. "As far as I know, anyway." The jet landed. As the door to the passenger compartment opened, Ash knew that the adventure was just beginning.

As the Mammoth Pictures jet took off, Ash looked at Pikachu. "Ya know, Pikachu, Danny and I have been friends since before we met. We-that is me and Danny-may be friends, but you and I are best friends. I hope you understand," Ash said. Pikachu smiled. "Pika-pika-chu." (I know.) Ash rubbed Pikachu behind the ears. Pikachu squealed in delight.

That night, at the premiere, Ash, Brock, May and Max sat next to Danny and Sawyer as Mammoth Pictures chairman L.B. Mammoth came on stage. "Tonight, in addition to our Hollywood celebrities, we have four celebrities from the world of Pokemon. Please welcome them with a big round of applause. First, he was a top 16 trainer in the 1999 Indigo League championship, grand champion of the Orange Islands League and top 8 trainer in the Johto League's 2003 Silver Conference. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Ash Ketchum!" Ash stood up and bowed to the audience.

"Next," Mammoth continued, "we have among us tonight one of the best trainers in the world. He is a former leader of the Pokemon Gym in Pewter City. Please welcome Brock Harrison!" Brock stood and nodded his thanks. "Finally, we are joined by the next generation of trainers. They are the children of Norman Blaustein, leader of the Gym in Petalburg City of the Hoenn region. Please welcome May Blaustein and her younger brother Max!" May and Max stood and smiled.

After the movie, Ash nodded at Danny. Danny walked on stage and asked for the microphone. "Thank you all for coming to the premiere tonight," he said. "Now, I'd like Sawyer Dumas to come on stage please." Sawyer smiled as she made her way up to the stage.
Ash picked a Pokeball from the belt at his waist and threw it. "Swellow, I choose you!" A blue, red and white bird Pokemon appeared. "Swellow, I want you to fly up to the stage and hand Danny this," Ash said, putting a small red case in Swellow's beak. Swellow nodded, spread its wings and flew up to the stage.

On the stage, Danny was talking to Sawyer. He was interrupted by Swellow pecking him on the leg. Danny bent down and saw the red case in Swellow's beak. "Thanks, Swellow," Danny said. Swellow cooed, then flew back to Ash, who called it back into its Pokeball. Danny turned back to Sawyer. "Sawyer, it has been eight years since the business with Darla Dimple. In that time, we've grown so close together that what I am about to do was inevitable." Danny opened the case and fell to one knee. "Sawyer Dumas, will you marry me?"

The audience gasped. Sawyer looked at the ring in the case and smiled. "Of course I'll marry you," she said. The audience cheered as Danny put the ring on Sawyer's finger.

The next morning, in Ash Ketchum's home town of Pallet Town, Delia Ketchum-Ash's mother- was reading the newspaper when a headline caught her eye:

POKEMON TRAINER INVOLVED IN HOLLYWOOD PROPOSAL

Hollywood, CA.- Pokemon trainer Ash Ketchum was involved in the biggest Hollywood proposal this reporter has ever seen. Ketchum, 17, was invited to the Hollywood premiere of the new Mammoth Pictures film Secrets of the Sky, starring Daniel "Danny" Goldsmith and Sawyer Dumas. After the movie, Ketchum used his Swellow to fly the ring up to the stage, where Danny proposed to Sawyer. Dumas accepted the proposal. After the premiere, I spoke to Ketchum. He said, "Danny and I have been friends since before I began my Pokemon journey. I cannot wait until the wedding."

Delia smiled. "My son..."

Back in Hollywood, Ash was talking to Danny and Sawyer.
"Congratulations, you two," Ash said. "Thank you so much, Ash," Sawyer said. "If there is anything you need of us, just ask," Brock said. "Now that you mention it, there is one small matter you can help us with," Danny said.

What could Danny need of Ash? Find out next timme....
